About the Ganesh Chalisa

After praising his form, with the curved trunk, the tripundra on his forehead, the modak and the mouse, it tells the story of his birth: Parvati's penance for a son, Ganesha coming as a Brahmin guest and then as a baby in the cradle, and Shani's glance that took off the child's head, which Vishnu replaced with an elephant's.

It ends with the test of wisdom, when Kartikeya set off around the earth but Ganesha walked around his parents seven times, winning the right to be worshipped first. The closing dohas promise new blessings in the home of whoever reads it.
