Privacy Policy

How AstroAnktara handles your data: calculations run in your browser, and what cookies, analytics and advertising partners may collect.

Last updated:

This policy explains what information AstroAnktara ("we", "us") handles when you use astroanktara.com, and the choices you have. We've written it to be readable. If anything is unclear, please contact us.

The short version

  • Calculators and the free tarot reading run in your browser. You don't need an account for them, and we don't store the names, birth dates or phone numbers you enter, or the question you ask the tarot cards.
  • An account is optional and only needed for the AI tarot reader's free questions and passes. It holds your email address, a name only if Google gives us one, your confirmation that you are 18 or over, and your free questions and pass. You can delete it at any time.
  • If you ask our AI tarot reader for a reading, your question, the cards you drew and our card texts are sent to Anthropic, our AI provider, to write it. If you are signed in, the reading is saved to your account until you delete it; without an account it is not stored.
  • While you use a calculator, your inputs stay in your current browser tab. The page address only holds a random report id, so your details are not sent to us, to advertisers or to analytics.
  • If you choose Share, the link you send contains your inputs so the recipient can see the same report.
  • When advertising and analytics are enabled, Google and its partners may use cookies to measure visits and show ads. Where the law requires it, we ask for your consent first.
  • If you ask us to email a report, we use your email address to send it through our email provider, Brevo. The name and birth date are used only to create that email and are not stored by us. We add you to our newsletter list only if you tick the box for updates.
  • If you sign up for vrat reminders, we store your email address and chosen vrats to send them, only after you confirm by email, and you can unsubscribe from any reminder.
  • If you take a psychology test, the free test and short result need no name or email. Your answers are sent to our server only to score them and are not stored; results are also counted anonymously in our score statistics, with no personal data.
  • If you buy a report, we store your name, email address and what the report is made from: your birth details for a Kundli report, which we email to you with a private download link, or your answers and result for a test report, which we show on a private page and email you the link to. Payments are handled by Razorpay; we never see your card or UPI details.
  • Our own visitor statistics use no cookies. Outside the EEA, UK and Switzerland, a random id in your browser lets us count returning visits; it identifies nothing about you. We look at them visit by visit (which pages and tools were used, in what order) to improve the site.

Information you enter into calculators

When you use a calculator, the arithmetic happens in your web browser using code sent to your device. The values you type, such as a name, date of birth or mobile number, are not sent to us in a form submission and are not saved in any database.

So that the back button and refresh still show your report, the values are kept in your browser's session storage for the current tab. The page address only contains a random report id, for example /numerology/chaldean-name-calculator?r=k3x9q2, which reveals nothing about you and does not work in another browser. Session storage is cleared when you close the tab.

If you choose Share (or copy the share link), the link contains your inputs, for example /numerology/chaldean-name-calculator?name=Teena, so the recipient can see the same report. Please note:

  • Anyone you share the link with can see the values in it.
  • When someone opens a shared link, the page moves the values into their tab and replaces the address with a report id before any advertising or analytics code reads it.
  • When a browser loads a shared link, the request reaches our hosting server. Servers commonly record requested addresses in access logs for security, error diagnosis and performance. Any such logs are kept only for a limited period, are not used to identify or profile you, and are not sold or shared except as required by law.

Personal result pages are marked so search engines do not index them.

Accounts

You can use almost all of AstroAnktara without an account. An account is needed only for the AI tarot reader's free questions and tarot passes, and to keep your AI readings. Accounts are for people aged 18 or over.

  • What we store: your email address, a name only if you sign in with Google and Google shares one (it is never required), your language, your confirmation that you are 18 or over, when the account was made and last used, how many free AI questions you have left, and your tarot pass (which plan and when it ends). If you sign in with Google we also store Google's account id for you, so the same Google account finds your account again. We never receive your Google password.
  • Signing in: we email you a one-time 6-digit code through Brevo, as described below. The code is kept only in our server's memory for a few minutes and is never stored in the database.
  • Staying signed in: a session cookie (__Host-aa_session) keeps you signed in for up to 90 days. It holds a long random code; our database stores only a one-way fingerprint (hash) of it, with an expiry date. Signing out deletes the session.
  • Deleting your account: "Delete my account" on your account page deletes your account, all of its sessions and all of your saved AI readings at once. Payment records for any tarot pass you bought are kept, as the law requires (see Paid reports below). We also keep a one-way fingerprint (hash) of your email address, and of your Google account id if you used Google, from which the address can't be read back, only so that a new account for the same address doesn't get the sign-up free questions again.

The AI tarot reader

After a free tarot reading you can ask for a personal AI reading of your question. Nothing is sent anywhere unless you press that button.

  • What is sent, and to whom: your question, the six cards you drew and their positions, and our own texts for those cards are sent to our server and from there to Anthropic, PBC (United States), our AI provider, whose model writes the reading. Anthropic processes this to provide the service to us under its commercial terms and privacy policy, and does not use it to train its models. Please don't put names, contact details or other personal information about yourself or anyone else in your question.
  • Signed in: the reading is saved to your account (in our database, MongoDB Atlas) with its question, cards and answer, so you can see your history. You can delete any reading from your account page, and deleting your account deletes them all.
  • Not signed in: the reading is shown to you and not stored by us.
  • Usage logs: for every AI reading we log the number of words (tokens) used, its cost, whether it was for a visitor without an account, a free question or a pass, your account id (or, without an account, a one-way fingerprint of the device cookie below), the language, the topic you chose and the time. These logs never contain your question or the reading. We use them to keep within our daily limits and costs, and they are deleted after about 13 months.
  • Daily allowance without an account: to count free AI readings per device, your browser is given a random device cookie (aa_dev) the first time you ask for one. It is a random code, not derived from you or your device, used only for this count. We also count readings per IP address for the day, using a keyed one-way fingerprint of the address rather than the address itself; these counters are deleted after about two days.
  • Our visitor statistics and analytics never receive your question or the reading.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, we and our service providers may receive standard technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, referring page and the pages you view. We use it to keep the site secure, fix problems and understand which pages are useful.

Our own visitor statistics

To understand how the site is used, we keep simple statistics in our own database (hosted with MongoDB Atlas, and deleted automatically after about 13 months): which page was viewed, which kind of site sent you here (for example "Google" or "Instagram", or the campaign name in a tagged link), your country (supplied by our network provider), a general device type, browser and operating system, and whether you used a calculator, downloaded a PDF, shared a report, chose a report plan, took a psychology test or drew a tarot reading. These records never include your test answers or your tarot question.

We look at these statistics visit by visit as well as in totals: the pages viewed in one visit, in order and with the time between them, and which tools were used. A visit is grouped by the daily code described below, so it ends at midnight (India time) or after 30 minutes without activity. If, during a visit, you order a report, ask for a report by email or sign up for reminders, we note in that visit's statistics that this happened (for an order, which order it was). This lets us see which pages lead people to our reports. It never adds the name, birth details or email address you entered to the statistics.

These statistics use no cookies and store no IP address, no full browser details and nothing you type into a calculator. To count visitors without identifying them, we store a short code made from your IP address and browser details mixed with a secret that changes every day. The code can't be reversed into your IP address, and it is different each day, so it cannot follow you over time.

To see how many people come back, visitors outside the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are also given a random visitor id, kept in your browser's local storage. It is a random number, not derived from you or your device, and it is used only for our own visitor statistics: it is never shared, sold or combined with advertising data. You can remove it at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser, and it is deleted and no longer used if you choose Reject all or turn off Analytics in the cookie banner. Visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland are not given this id.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use a small amount of browser storage to remember your light or dark theme preference, your cookie choice (for up to a year), your progress in a psychology test (so you can carry on where you left off) and, outside the EEA, UK and Switzerland, the random visitor id described above. This stays on your device.

Two essential cookies are set only when you use the features that need them: the session cookie __Host-aa_session when you sign in (see Accounts), and the device cookie aa_dev when you ask for an AI tarot reading without an account (see The AI tarot reader). Neither is used for advertising or analytics.

When enabled, the following third-party services may also use cookies or similar technologies:

Google Analytics

We may use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site, for example which calculators are popular. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as pages visited and general location (country or city). We configure it not to receive the values you enter into calculators. Learn more in Google's explanation of how it uses information from sites that use its services. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Google AdSense advertising

We may show ads served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.

You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info or, in Europe, www.youronlinechoices.eu.

Consent

On your first visit, a cookie banner asks for your choice: Accept all, Reject all, or Choose to allow Analytics and Advertising separately. Essential storage (such as remembering that choice) is always on. We pass your choice to Google through its Consent Mode, so Google Analytics and Google ads follow it, and we ask again after a year.

If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, analytics and advertising cookies stay off until you allow them; until then, Google services run in a restricted mode. Elsewhere they are on until you say no. You can change your choice at any time with Privacy & cookie settings at the bottom of every page.

How we use information

We use the limited information described above to:

  • provide and secure the website
  • understand usage and improve our tools and content
  • show advertising that keeps the site free (when enabled)
  • reply to you if you contact us

We do not sell your personal information.

Reports sent by email

Some calculators let you request your report by email. When you do:

  • Your browser sends the email address you enter, together with the name, date of birth and numerology system needed for that report, to our server. The server recalculates the report and sends it to you through Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, France), our email delivery provider. We do not save the name or date of birth.
  • Brevo processes your email address and the message to deliver it and keeps delivery logs (for example, whether the email was delivered or opened) for a limited period under its own privacy policy.
  • If you tick "Also send me occasional numerology updates", your email address is added to our mailing list in Brevo. Every update includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also ask us to remove you at any time. If you don't tick the box, you are not added to any list.
  • To prevent misuse, we limit how many reports can be requested in a short time. Those limits are kept in memory only and are not stored.

Paid reports

When you buy a Kundli report, such as the Complete Kundli Report:

  • We store your name, email address, date, time and place of birth, the report language, the order amount and the payment reference in our database. We keep them so your report can be prepared and emailed to you, downloaded again from the private link in that email, and to answer questions about your order. The link contains a long random code that appears only in that email, and the report is never shown on the website or to search engines. (Reports bought before 24 October 2026 stay available on the private report page their buyers were given.) When we email your report, we may also keep a private copy of the PDF with Cloudflare (our network and storage provider), so the link gives you the same file.
  • Payments are processed by Razorpay Software Private Limited (India). You enter your card, UPI, net banking or wallet details on Razorpay's checkout, not on our site, and we never receive them. Razorpay handles that information under its own privacy policy.
  • We send your order confirmation and receipt, and then your report (the PDF and its link), by email through Brevo, as described above. We do not add buyers to any mailing list.
  • Indian law requires us to keep records of payments for several years. You can ask us to delete your birth details and report at any time; we will keep only the payment record the law requires.

When you buy a tarot pass, we store the order with your account id, email address, name (if your account has one), the plan and what it gives, the amount and the payment reference, and we email you a confirmation and receipt through Brevo. Payments are processed by Razorpay, as above. These payment records are kept as the law requires, even if you later delete your account.

Psychology tests

Our IQ test and Big Five personality test are free to take, and so is the short result at the end (your level, or your strongest trait). You don't need an account, a name or an email address for them.

  • While you take a test, your answers so far may be kept in your browser's storage on your device, so you can carry on later. They stay on your device until you finish, start over or clear this site's data.
  • When you finish, your browser sends your answers to our server, which scores them and sends back your short result. We don't store your answers. Your result may also be added, anonymously, to our score statistics: running counts of how many people reached each score on each version of a test. They contain no name, email address, IP address or anything else that could link a score to you, and they let a full report compare your score with other takers once enough people have taken the test.
  • To prevent misuse, we limit how many tests can be scored in a short time. Those limits are kept in memory only and are not stored.

If you buy the full report (for people aged 18 or over):

  • We store your name, email address, answers and computed result, the report language, your confirmation that you are 18 or over, the order amount and the payment reference in our database. We use them to show your full report, email you its link and answer questions about your order.
  • The report is shown on a private page as soon as your payment is confirmed. Its address contains a long random code; anyone who has that link can see the report, so please don't share it publicly. The page is marked so search engines do not index it and carries no advertising. We email you the link through Brevo, as described above, and we do not add you to any mailing list.
  • Payments are processed by Razorpay, as described under Paid reports; we never receive your card or UPI details.
  • If you start a purchase but don't pay, that order, with your name, email address and answers, is deleted automatically after 30 days.
  • We keep paid orders like our other payment records: you can ask us to delete your answers and result at any time, and we will keep only the payment record the law requires.

Tarot

The tarot reading is free and needs no account. The cards are drawn at random in your browser. For the free reading, the question you type never leaves your device: it is not sent to us, not put in the page address and not passed to analytics or advertisers, and we never store it. Only if you then ask for an AI reading is your question sent, as described under The AI tarot reader.

Vrat reminders

If you sign up for vrat reminders, we store your email address, the vrats you chose, your language and the dates you signed up and confirmed in our database (MongoDB Atlas). We first send one email asking you to confirm; nothing else is sent unless you click it. After that we email you the evening before each chosen vrat, through Brevo. Every reminder has an unsubscribe link, which stops them at once; we then keep only a record that you unsubscribed, so we don't email you again. Reminders are for people aged 18 or over. You can ask us to delete your address at any time.

Email

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message. We use it only to respond and keep it only as long as needed for that purpose.

Children

AstroAnktara is a general-audience website and is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

The free psychology tests and the tarot reading ask for no personal information. Buying a test's full report, making an account (and so buying a tarot pass), and signing up for vrat reminders are for people aged 18 or over, and we ask you to confirm your age first.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information, or to object to certain processing. Because we don't store calculator inputs, test answers (unless you buy a report) or tarot questions (unless you save AI readings to an account), there is usually no personal profile to retrieve. If you have an account, your account page shows what it holds, lets you delete single AI readings, and deletes the whole account with its sessions and readings. If you joined our mailing list, you can unsubscribe from any update or ask us to delete your address. For anything held by Google, use the Google links above. For other requests, contact us.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site evolves, for example when new features launch. We'll change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when we do.
