What would you like to ask the cards?

One situation at a time. Open questions such as “What should I know about…” work best.

What is it about?

Auto guesses the topic from your words, here on your device.

For this free reading your question stays on this device. It is sent to us only if you ask for a personal AI reading.

How to ask a good question

Open questions work best. Instead of 'Will I pass?', try 'What should I focus on before my exams?' Instead of 'Does he like me?', try 'What do I need to know about this relationship?'

Keep the question about you and something you can act on. Ask one thing at a time, take a slow breath, and draw when you feel ready.

You can still ask a yes-or-no question. The reading shows a gentle lean from the last card, but treat it as a nudge to think, not a final answer.

What the six positions mean

Heart of the matter: what your question is really about. What stands in the way: the challenge or block in front of you. What brought you here: the past events, choices or habits behind the situation.

What's coming next: the energy around the near future. Advice: a suggestion for how to approach things. Where it's heading: the direction things lean if you carry on as you are, which you are always free to change.

Upright and reversed cards

Each card can land upright or upside down. An upright card shows its energy flowing openly. A reversed card shows the same theme turned inward, delayed, blocked or overdone.

A reversal isn't bad news. It usually marks the part of a situation that needs a little more care or attention from you.

Private by design

Your cards are shuffled and drawn at random in your own browser. For the free reading your question never leaves your device. If you ask for a personal AI reading, your question and cards are sent to our server and to our AI provider to write it; see our privacy policy.

Reflection, not prediction

Tarot is for reflection and entertainment. It can't predict the future, and it isn't medical, legal, financial or mental-health advice. Use the cards as a mirror for your own thinking, and make big decisions with people you trust.

Every meaning here is written by us in plain, modern language, based on traditional tarot symbolism. You can read the full meaning of all 78 cards in our card guide.

FAQ

Tarot reading: questions and answers

Is this tarot reading really free?

Yes. The six-card reading is free with no sign-up, and the meanings of all 78 cards are free to read too.

Is my question private?

Yes. For the free reading the cards are drawn in your browser and your question never leaves your device. A personal AI reading is optional: only then is your question sent to us and our AI provider.

Can tarot predict the future?

No. Tarot is a tool for reflection and entertainment. It can help you see a situation from a fresh angle, but the choices, and what comes of them, are yours.

What does a reversed tarot card mean?

A reversed card shows its theme turned inward, slowed down or out of balance. It is a prompt to look closer, not a bad sign.

How often can I do a tarot reading?

As often as you like, but one reading per question is usually enough. Drawing again and again on the same question tends to muddle things, so give yourself time to reflect first.

Can I ask tarot about my health?

Tarot can't answer health questions, so please see a doctor about anything medical. If you ask one, the reading looks only at your mindset.

Are the card meanings traditional?

Yes. They follow the traditional meanings of the 78-card tarot, with its usual element and astrology links, written in our own words for modern life.
