Ram Navami celebrates the birth of Rama on Chaitra Shukla Navami, the last day of Chaitra Navratri. Rama is believed to have been born at midday, under Punarvasu nakshatra and Karka lagna, so the puja is done in madhyahna.
Ram Navami falls on the day Navami is current at midday; if it is on neither day, the day Navami holds at sunrise. The puja muhurat is madhyahna, the middle fifth of the day, with the moment of birth at its centre.
Devotees fast, recite the Ramcharitmanas, and every Rama temple, Ayodhya above all, celebrates the birth at midday.
Times for Indian cities are Indian Standard Time; times abroad are local time. They match established panchangs to within a minute or two. For a city not listed, the nearest city is usually within a few minutes.
