Akshaya Tritiya is Vaishakha Shukla Tritiya. Akshaya means 'never diminishing': charity, prayer and good beginnings on this day are believed to bring lasting merit. It is also Parashurama Jayanti, and is held to be auspicious for weddings, moving home and new ventures without consulting a muhurat.
Akshaya Tritiya falls on the day Tritiya holds at sunrise. The puja is in the morning, from sunrise to midday while Tritiya lasts. Buying gold and silver is a popular tradition, and it can be done at any time while Tritiya lasts.
Times for Indian cities are Indian Standard Time; times abroad are local time. They match established panchangs to within a minute or two. For a city not listed, the nearest city is usually within a few minutes.

FAQ
Akshaya Tritiya FAQs
Do I need a muhurat on Akshaya Tritiya?
It is a self-auspicious day (swayam siddha muhurat), so the whole day is considered good. For the puja, the morning while Tritiya lasts is still preferred.
